Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto

CCC's summer camp
now open for registration!

Promoting Chinese culture and education among our next generation has always been an aim of the Chinese Culture Centre of Greater Toronto. For this, the Summer Camp 2003 will take place from July 2 to August 29. This nine-week event provides a meaningful and interesting summer activity for children between four to thirteen. This year, the summer camp will focus on the theme “Beautiful World Beautiful Life,” teaching children to appreciate their belongings, stop wasting, care for public property, and understand the importance of caring for the environment.

The main feature of our Summer Camp is to teach children in both spoken and written English and Chinese. Morning classes train students in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and at the same time teach them Chinese culture and heritage; afternoon classes consist of phyical and intellectual activities, including Chinese chess, calligraphy, arts and crafts, cookery and ball games. In addition, we have prepared field trips to widen the children's vision of Canada.

The Chinese Culture Centre of Greater Toronto has a comfortable environment and comprehensive facilities. We have different-size lecture rooms, a hall, a cafeteria, audio equipment, and more for the students' lessons and indoor activities. Outdoors, the open space, lawn, and garden provide students a place to rest or conduct other outdoor activities. Besides, the library in our centre has plenty of books and audio-visual materials suitable for children of all ages. Lastly, students can go to our art gallery, which holds frequent exhibitions.

Study units are organized in units of one week each; students can thus freely choose to attend any number of units, between one to nine weeks. No matter how many weeks the student choose to enrol in, the student will still go through complete study units. Child care service, before and after classes, are provided for the convenience of parents. The cost of the Summer Camp for full-day and half-day participation are $80/week and $50/week respectively. Child care service is extra.
