THE MID-AUTUMN HARVEST MOON FESTIVAL 1996

under the distinguished patronage of
The Honourable Henry N R Jackman
Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario

[中文版]

THE EVENT

The Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the three major festivals in the Chinese calendar, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month of the year, corresponding to the autumnal equinox at the end of September. On this day, the moon is furthest from the earth, the heat of the summer has given way to cool autumn weather, and farmers can relax and celebrate a good harvest, like the Canadian Thanksgiving. Join the Chinese Cultural Centre in a colourful variety of cultural and recreational programs and artmaking activities.

THE PROGRAM

Similar to previous years, the CCC is hosting various children contests and cultural activities in the Metro Toronto area. Some of them are organized by CCC while some will be co-hosted with other community groups, and educational and cultural institutions.
