“Root Searching” 2006
CCC is proud to organize another “Root Searching” trip in 2006.
This trip aims to help young people acquire a better understanding and appreciation of their Chinese culture
and their origins,
and to better understand the social and economical developments of China,
while at the same time promoting the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
This year, registration fee is $600 for youth,
$900 for adults.

Participants will depart Toronto on Friday, March 10, 2006,
and the trip will last about 10 days.

Why we do it
- To help young people
- acquire a better understanding and appreciation of their Chinese culture,
- acquire a better understanding and appreciation of their origins, and
- better understand the social and economical developments of China.
- To promote the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
Trip features

Participants will travel through Guangzhou province via Hong Kong
(exact route to depend on the participants' places of ancestry).

Visits to participants' places of ancestry will be coordinated by the Chinese government.

Tour leader will be provided by the Chinese Cultural Centre.

A documentary of the trip will be filmed by Fairchild TV and aired in April.
Who is eligible?

The applicant must be between the ages of 15–25.

Because of the nature of the programme,
either or both parents of the applicant must be of Chinese descent.
Applications will be screened by a selection committee.
Acceptance is not guaranteed and decision of the selection committee is final.

How to register:

of the flyer and registration form package.
(Extra sheets can be attached if more space is needed.)

Pay the registration fee.
(The fee is refunded if the application is not accepted.)

Attend the interview with the selection committee.
All decisions by the organizer are final.
