How do you respond to your environment? Does your environment define you, or do you define it? How have changes in your environment influenced you as an individual and artist? In an era of growing awareness of environmental issues, and also changes in built, natural and social environments, artists have endeavoured to respond to these questions in their work. For Environs: Scarborough Arts Council Annual Juried Art Exhibition, the SAC is asking artists to consider their environment — the culture, people and natural & built worlds that make up their surroundings — in creating works for submission. The Juror for Environs is Nicole Collins.
Awards for Environs include the Frank Faubert Memorial Award for Art — the City of Toronto Purchase Award and the D. L. Stevenson Ltd. Award for Art.
